Opera Appreciation & Production: Let Me Tell You A Story
What goes in to telling a story? This course will explore opera through performances. We will discuss the art form through different lenses: music, singers (casting), orchestra/conducting, stage direction, lighting, scenery, costume, and makeup design. Opera combines all of these elements, and they must all work in order for the “magic” to happen.
We will use different types of opera/music theater to discover how these elements work together to make opera one of the greatest art forms.
