Dr. Konstantin Wertelecki will act as your "tour guide" this term as you visit the spectacular sites of Italy! Each week will take you to a different destination, to include Pompeii, Florence, Rome, Siena, and more. Through images, video, and interactive discussion, students will take a trip to Italy without having to board a plane! Don't miss this opportunity of a lifetime.

This is the Zoom version of this class. If you would prefer an in-person class there is another section which is held on-campus in person at the same time.

Konstantin Wertelecki
Konstantin Wertelecki is a history instructor at Springhill College, but he has enjoyed Italian life and culture throughout his higher educational pursuits. After receiving a B.A in History from Springhill (with minors in French and Theatre), he traveled to the University of Cambridge in England where he earned his M.Phil in 2014. His masters thesis led him to Italy, where he conducted research on "Britishers in Italy 1919-1945." Following that, he was enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland from 2015-2020. During this time he received the Erasmus Scholarship (2017), enabling his return to Florence where he spent six months conducting research through the European University Institute. Konstantin has since co-organized a student group to attend the Association for the Study of Modern Italy at the University of Milan.
