COURSE DESCRIPTION
This conference will utilize a case-based learning approach to engage participants in guided discussion and small group learning. We will explore pediatric feeding disorder (PFD) case studies across the continuum of assessment and treatment through recovery. Specifically, the conference will highlight current best available evidence to support commonly used evaluation methods, including bedside and instrumental assessments. Participants will explore the role of the speech-language pathologist as part of the multidisciplinary team for the effective identification and management of PFD. Portions of the conference will include hands-on experience for audience members, as well as on-site access to technology utilized in treatment of pediatric feeding disorder.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Speech-Language Pathologists, Speech-Language Pathology Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physicians, Nurse Practitioners or other medical professionals working with infants and children with pediatric feeding disorder.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
  1. Differentiate the role of the SLP as a member of the PFD care team.
  2. Develop a hypothesis based diagnostic protocol based on a medical chart review and patient/caregiver interview.
  3. Synthesize results from comprehensive diagnostic protocol to create a comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plan.
