Konstantin Wertelecki

Konstantin Wertelecki is a history instructor at Springhill College, but he has enjoyed Italian life and culture throughout his higher educational pursuits. After receiving a B.A in History from Springhill (with minors in French and Theatre), he traveled to the University of Cambridge in England where he earned his M.Phil in 2014. His masters thesis led him to Italy, where he conducted research on "Britishers in Italy 1919-1945." Following that, he was enrolled in the doctoral program at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland from 2015-2020. During this time he received the Erasmus Scholarship (2017), enabling his return to Florence where he spent six months conducting research through the European University Institute. Konstantin has since co-organized a student group to attend the Association for the Study of Modern Italy at the University of Milan. Having a propensity for language acquisition, he is fluent in French and Italian.
