Sorry, we are no longer accepting registrations for this course. Please contact our office to find out if it will be rescheduled, or if alternative classes are available.

Join Jim Flowers as he leads the class in reading selected short stories of Flannery O' Conner, and Cormac McCarthy's masterpiece Child of God.  O'Conner and McCarthy belong to the genre of "Southern Gothic" in that they are adept at depicting the beauty and poignancy of life, not forgetting its mysterious dark side.

O'Conner and McCarthy are Roman Catholics living in exile, as it were, in the protestant South. Both recognize the sacramental nature of beauty and its relationship to violence. Their writing is as fine as any produced among American letters.
Fee: $55.00
Hours:9.00
