Anatomy and Physiology for Medical Managers and Coders

This course explains the nature of matter and the principles of chemistry that are important to human physiology. You will learn principles of genetics and gain an understanding of how traits are passed from one generation to the next. This course goes in-depth on how the circulatory and respiratory systems work together to provide human bodies with the oxygen their tissues need, and how they work together with the skin and kidneys to rid the body of wastes. You will learn how human bodies fight off diseases, and how the digestive system converts food into energy and tissue. You will spend time on the endocrine system, which supplies the hormones needed for survival, and the reproductive system, the group of organs that allows life to be passed on to another generation. In addition, each lesson includes information about specific disorders that sometimes happen to human bodies. By the end of this course, you will have a greater appreciation and understanding of the marvelous complexity of the human body.

Introduction to Medical Billing & Coding

This course is for students who have applied and been accepted into USA's Medical Billing and Coding Program, and have completed Medical Terminology and Human Anatomy & Physiology. NOTE: If you are paying for the bundled program, do not register here. Go to Medical Billing and Coding -- Experienced Bundle to register. Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding is about the business of medicine, specifically coding as a profession. It also introduces students to the tools of their trade; CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS Level II books. The laws governing the medical field and the importance of compliance with them is included in this course. Students who attend this class will learn the process of medical billing and how coding is part of that process. Upon completion of the course, they will begin to have a working knowledge of how to use their codebooks by understanding the layout and purpose of each book. They will gain insight into the claims filing and payment process while staying within the confounds of Federal, State and payer guidelines.

Comprehensive Coding I

This comprehensive coding course is an in-depth study of ICD-10-CM coding and guidelines, and specific sections of CPT and HCPCS Level II code books. The specific CPT sections include Evaluation and Management, Medicine, Radiology and Pathology with their section guidelines and modifiers. Students will come away from this course equipped with the coding knowledge and understanding that is needed to be ready for the CPC exam questions in the areas covered in this course.
