The Pat Capps Covey College of Allied Health Professions Healthcare Career Summer Camp is a day-long summer healthcare career exploration opportunity for underrepresented Mobile County Public School System rising high school seniors with professions including Emergency Medical Services (Emergency Medical Technicians, Paramedics), Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, Radiologic Sciences, Speech Pathology, Audiology, research, and other biomedical careers.
Students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on experiments and learn about a variety of clinical skills.

Activities include:
- Hands-on CPR and bleeding control, tour of EMS Mobile Simulation Lab
- Wound suture, incision and drainage workshop
- Physical and occupational therapy relay competitions
- Tour energized x-ray rooms, see how to produce an x-ray image, and learn all of the imaging modalities offered at South
- Extract your own DNA and then take it home with you!
- Students will receive a free t-shirt and Jag Swag from the College, take a tour of campus, have lunch at USA’s Fresh Food Company, and enjoy a meet and greet with USA special guests.
