Join us for this interactive course which will cover four key areas of language learning: listening, speaking, reading and writing. After the course, you will understand written and spoken language on a variety of topics presented in each unit. You will be able to have simple conversations, and be familiar with common vocabulary terms and phrases.

In addition to learning language skills, you will also gain insights on the diversity of multiple Spanish-speaking countries and compare cultural practices of each. This course is a wonderful starting point to enlarge your language skills and to engage with others!

Take Highway 98 through Daphne, then turn on US-98 Alternate (also called Section Street) and take this to downtown Fairhope. Turn west onto Fairhope Avenue and go two blocks.

The USA Baldwin County Classroom Complex will be on your right at the corner of St. James Street and South Summit Street.

The physical address of this building is 111 St. James Street.


Rita Mendiola Urbaneja

Rita Elisa Mendiola Urbaneja was born and raised in Málaga, Spain. She moved to the United States in 2016, and earned her B.A from the University of South Alabama, (Foreign Languages, Concentration in Spanish) in 2021. She is currently completing her Masters in Education with a concentration in Spanish also at the University of South Alabama.

Rita completed a year-long Internship as teacher assistant for Spanish for Health Professionals and currently serves in that position. She also works as a Spanish interpreter for the Alabama Department of Human Resources and a medical interpreter for clinics in Baldwin County and Mobile County.
