A key element of a superior photograph is good composition. This can be defined by a number of tools such as pattern, symmetry, texture or depth of field that is used to create a unique, yet satisfying image. The objective of this course is to understand the tools used in composition and adding ways of constructing an image. In this one-day session, half a day will consist of shooting images outdoors, while the other half will be spent in the classroom creating and putting together the elements of the image to create the desired photograph.

Class will first meet via Zoom format at 8:30 AM. Then the instructor will dismiss the students to go outdoors and shoot photos of their choosing. Students will then download their photos, and the day will end with a second classroom session via Zoom to obtain feedback and to wrap up.

Note: The class is scheduled for 5/2/20. In the case of inclement weather, the class will take place on 5/9/20.

This course will be presented live via Zoom by a USA Continuing Education instructor. If students need assistance or training on utilizing Zoom, the Center for Continuing Education will offer training sessions. The Zoom training schedule is attached to your registration confirmation. Students may participate in as many of the Zoom training sessions as they would like.
