Mastering the Art of Professional Presentations

It is well known that public speaking is something that many people would like to avoid. Yet, the ability to make effective presentations is a competence that is highly useful in the workplace. This one-day interactive workshop will break down this seemingly difficult undertaking into manageable steps that will provide attendees the skills to better communicate, inform and persuade. These steps such as coping with nervousness, knowing your audience, and organizing your thoughts will decrease anxiety, increase confidence and enable you to master the art of professional presentations.

April DuPree-TaylorIn her position as an assistant professor and basic course director in the Department of Communication at the University of South Alabama, April DuPree Taylor teaches communication courses to undergraduate and graduate students. She also works extensively with graduate students and part-time teaching faculty to develop instruction and assessment material for the basic public speaking course. Her scholarly interests include communication apprehension and its effects on delivering effective public speeches.
