|| Paul Phillips is the head instructor and program director of the University of South Alabamaâ€™s Safety and Emergency Response Training department. He has been with the program since 2003 and has a wide range of emergency response training and experience. Paul has an associateâ€™s degree in fire science and has been a firefighter since 1998. He is currently employed with the City of Mobileâ€™s Fire Department since 2000 and is a Captain assigned to the Hazardous Materials Unit where he has obtained certification as a Hazmat Technician and a Weapons of Mass Destruction Technician and Incident Safety Officer. He also is an OSHA Outreach instructor and is qualified to teach a variety of safety classes. In addition, he spent 4 years performing search and rescue operations in the United States Coast Guard where he holds a USCG Maritime Captains license. Overhaul, Paulâ€™s combined education, training, and work experience enable him to instruct students to become safety and emergency response professionals.
