| Joel Goode | Joel Goode is a Senior at South Alabama who is currently enrolled in their TEFL/TESL Certificate program. He has experience teaching English to Hispanic immigrants through the Guadalupe Center, sponsored by Providence Hospital, as well as Hispanic Community Services, sponsored by the Mobile Parks and Recreation Department. As a bilingual instructor with Spanish proficiency, he has developed a strong ability to discern transfer errors and guide students towards English fluency. He loves working with immigrants to provide them with the best life possible for themselves and their families, both here in the U.S. as well as in their home countries. |
| LeRon Harrison | LeRon Harrison has a B. A. in Japanese Language and Literature from the University of California, Berkeley, a M.A. in Japanese from Indiana University, and a PhD in East Asian Languages and Literature from the University of California, Irvine. He has served as a lecturer of Japanese language and literature at the University of California, Irvine, a lecturer of Japanese literature at Stanford University. a visiting professor of Japanese literature at the University of Oregon, and assistant professor of Japanese at Murray State University. He has taught a course on Japanese poetry at Irvine, Stanford, and Oregon that serves as the basis of this course. |
| Vincent Lawson | Vincent Lawson has taught for the USA Center for Continuing Education Photography program for many years. He began his interest in photography while in the Air Force. After the birth of his daughters, he became a serious photography student, learning as much as he could. He completed the USA Center for Continuing Education Photography Certificate program and later began to teach for the program. He has won several photography awards and is a past President of Camera South. Vincent is a very creative photographer and a favorite instructor among students. |
| Robert Leier | Robert D. Leier received his Ph.D. from The Pennsylvania State University in international development education and his M.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in TESOL, bilingual education and applied linguistics. His undergraduate degree is in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Leier has taught undergraduate and graduate courses since 1991 in the areas of technology and media for ESOL, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, methods in ESOL, bicultural and bilingual education, assessment in ESOL, music for ESOL, multicultural and social foundations of education. He has also served as chair or as committee member for over 50 graduate and doctoral degree students, and more than 60 graduate certificate students. He also has taught ESOL at all proficiency levels form beginners through advanced and for grades 5 through adult in public and private schools. Additionally he has directed and taught in a family literacy program for Central Americans and taught workplace literacy skills to high school and adult students. Dr. Leier has also tutored students in preparation to take the IELTS and TOEFL examinations. Dr. Leier is proficient in Spanish and has studied several other languages such as Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Armenian, Ilokano and Maya Quiche. He has served as a Peace Corp volunteer in Guatemala, El Salvador and Philippines. He has lived and worked in 8 countries and has served as an U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow in Colombia, Armenia, Republic of Georgia (virtually), and Latvia. |

| Olivia Pinochet | A native of Chile, Olivia Pinochet has been teaching Spanish for over 25 years. She enjoys teaching her native language and seeing her students leave her class with the ability to communicate in basic Spanish and having enjoyed her class. While in Chile, Olivia served as a translator for the Korean Consulate and for Bank of America. In addition to teaching Conversational Spanish classes, she also teaches "Spanish For Medical Professionals." She is very interactive and her students love her! |
