I love Mobile. We are one of the oldest cities in the United States with superb museums, architecture, and fabulous food. We also have wonderful live theatre, dance and music. The Mobile Symphony Orchestra can match that of any large city. Want to learn more about opera in Mobile? Speakers from the Mobile Opera will tell us about upcoming productions. Would you enjoy having dinner while watching Mobile Opera? You can arrange for that. Speaking of opera, did you know that the University South Alabama has opera theatre? Dr. Thomas L. Rowell, tenor, is the Coordinator of Graduate Studies in Music, Coordinator of Vocal Studies, and directs USA Opera Theatre. He will tell us about USA’s contribution to local opera and theatre. Mobile has a number of live theatres presenting both drama and comedy. Barney March local attorney and thespian will discuss the history of local theatre in Mobile. We may even see a quick change of costume or two.
